Description:

Recruitment Ambassadors help prospective graduate and online undergraduate students through the student lifecycle from inquiry to applicant. As an Ambassador, you will also work alongside University Recruiters, assisting them on specific tasks related to their programs. Our Ambassadors provide a crucial service as they guide SUU’s prospective students from inquiry to applicant.

This is an in-office position. Ambassadors are expected to come to our office on Highway-56 to complete their work hours. Our offices are located at 2460 UT-56, Cedar City, UT 84720. Interviews will be face-to-face unless there is a specified need to interview virtually.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in phone call campaigns, including calling inquiries to answer questions about their program of interest, career opportunities, and general questions they may have.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, text messages, and emails. Respond quickly and with precision.
  • Review and respond to appointment requests. Coordinate meeting times between University Recruiters and students.
  • Answer questions about resources available to students and connect students with those resources.
  • Ambassadors will be trained to work across several SUU systems including: Banner, CRM (Slate), Google Drive, Slack, etc.
  • Work as a team on office initiatives and projects as assigned.
  • Promote SUU’s graduate and online undergraduate programs through events, tabling, and classroom visits.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • The position requires a minimum commitment of 15–20 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters. Students may have the option to work up to 40 hours per week during the Summer semester.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service, sales, call center, and/or CRM experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Skills related to cold-calling are preferred.
  • Great communicator, both written and oral.
  • Strictly honor the privacy, security and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with people of varying demographics.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and perform tasks independently.
  • Love for SUU and a strong desire to promote its programs.
  • Professional attitude when conducting business.
  • Responsible, reliable, and respectful.
  • Great problem-solving skills.
  • An ideal candidate would demonstrate adaptability, a good attitude, be a team player, and motivate others in the workplace.
